Welcome to Valley Youth Hockey Association's website!
Hello Valley Hockey parents and players!
This new website has some great features which we hope will simplify and improve our scheduling and communications. Parents will be able to view schedules by team (and selected teams, for families with multiple hockey players at Valley). Schedules can be downloaded, printed, and imported into your computer-based calendars. Or, you can link your team's or teams' schedule(s) to web calendars like Google so that any changes will automatically be updated. All affected persons will be notified automatically by email of schedule changes.
You will be able to view schedules, rink locations, directions, maps, and any other information on our website on your smart phone. You can use the mobile website or the free Android and iOS apps (click here for the download link). In order to use the apps and to access your member records, you will need to use the email address that has been registered with Valley. Passwords have been automatically generated; you will need to reset yours by following the steps on this page. When you open the apps on your mobile devices, you will be asked for your email address, your password, and a domain -- the domain is: "valleyyouthhockey.com". Relatives & fans of Valley Hockey players may also use the apps by registering an email address with VYHA (Look under the "Communications" tab and select "Join Email List") and following the same steps to get a password.
Coaches will be able to send team bulletins and email their teams from the website. They will also be able to send email blasts or text you from their mobile phones about last-minute changes if you opt-in for receiving texts. They will be able to check rosters on their phones to see who will be at games and practices (assuming parents have responded to RSVP requests). Coaches and team managers will be able to update scores and track stats while the games are still being played so that parents who are unable to be there can know immediately how their teams are doing. Parents who are at the games can tweet game updates to our feed at the bottom of our home page and post photos to their team page.
Parents will be able to view and select volunteer opportunities online. There is a "gear exchange" section where you can post gear that you want to sell, swap, or donate. And if there's something you want to discuss, there's a forum where any member can post comments.
We have not set up online registration for this year -- that will probably be available next year. Schedules and teams may not be online until mid-late September because registration is still open and most teams have not yet been determined. When schedules and rosters have been uploaded, announcements will be posted and an email will be sent out. However, please do explore the new website and the apps and feel free to ask questions and give feedback to the webmaster at:
